Roadways to the Federal Bench: Who Me? A Bankruptcy Judge?

October 24, 2019 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. MST
In an effort to foster diversity in the federal bench, the Judicial Conference of the United States Committee on the Administration of the Bankruptcy System is hosting an event to help lawyers and law students learn from sitting judges about their journeys to the bench. The function will be held at The Sandra Day O’Connor U.S. Courthouse, 401 W. Washington Street, Phoenix, Arizona.

Our program will begin with a live-streamed panel of distinguished judges, who will introduce the program to all 19 of the participating cities. The judges will talk about their own pathways to the bench, and they will offer their thoughts on the importance of diversity in the federal bankruptcy bench and bar. The Arizona participants will then enjoy an hour of "round-robin" discussions. We are delighted that 17 Arizona circuit, district, bankruptcy, and magistrate judges will rotate through the tables for more in-depth discussions. A gelato & cappuccino reception will follow.

There is no charge for this event. Registration is open but may be limited due to space constraints.
